Our most recent blog post centres around helping those new or returning to running. It highlights the experience and understanding of how to assist people return to activity of our newest member of the team, Stuart Rudge.
Stuart has been with us since February, however with all the challenges of COVID-19 we have not had the pleasure of introducing him. We thought following his first blog post with Fluid Movement Podiatry, this would be a great way to introduce him.
If you have not had a chance to read Stuart’s blog and you are looking to start running or even add in some running sessions into your normal exercise routine, please take a look. Have you caught the COVID running bug…?.
Stuart comes to us with a wealth of experience and knowledge having work both locally and overseas in the health care system of Singapore.
He started in private practice in Melbourne before moving to Singapore and taking up a role in their health care sector. There he helped people with a variety of complex foot problems, including heel and ankle pain, ingrown toe nails and the management of diabetic foot ulcers. Stuart thoroughly enjoyed this experience and was lucky enough to be able to explore South East Asia and its cuisine.
Now back in Melbourne, Stuart operates in the hospital setting as well as in private practice with Fluid Movement Podiatry. Within the hospital, Stuart works within the Northern Health orthopaedic team. He is involved in triaging patients on the surgical waitlist who are suffering from complex foot and ankle problems. This role involves treating patients with long standing heel pain, osteoarthritis, Hallux Valgus or more commonly known as bunions and a wide range of other conditions.
Stuart is positioned to assist patients with a variety of non-surgical treatments. Modalities including orthotic therapy, dry needling, mobilisation, functional rehabilitation with tailored exercise prescription and in-depth footwear knowledge. These are all often key components to getting patients back to a more comfortable and active lifestyle.
In his free time Stuart enjoys spending time with family, playing cricket and continuing his indulgence of Asian food. He and his wife are very excited to have a new set of feet in their family, expecting their first child in June.
It’s a real pleasure to have Stuart on the team and he will be a great addition, consulting out of our Heidelberg clinic.
Stuarts special interest areas include big toe joint pain, forefoot pain, heel pain and assisting people return to sport/activity. Stuart loves working with people and helping guiding them back to their desired level of activity.
Feel free to contact Stuart if you have any questions or require any help with a lower leg/foot complaint.
